Ask Which Complete System Is Being Proposed
Epoxy and polyaspartic are terms you may hear during a floor coating estimate. A useful comparison identifies the complete proposed system and the role of each layer rather than choosing by a product label alone. For Brevard County projects, describe the space and ask DJ Epoxy Solutions to explain its recommendation.
Use the polyaspartic floor coating service for the installation assessment. This article is a checklist for understanding that discussion.
Identify the Substrate and Each Layer
- What is the existing surface and how will it be prepared?
- Which product is proposed for each layer, and what is its role?
- Does the finish include Flake or another decorative material?
- Which technical instructions apply to the complete application?
Do not assume every project has the same number of coats or follows a universal three-day sequence. The selected system and actual floor determine the specification and installation instructions.

Describe Sunlight, Water and Intended Use
Tell the installer whether the area is interior or exterior, how sunlight reaches it and how water is used nearby. Describe vehicles, foot traffic, cleaning products and any other expected exposure. Ask which product data supports the recommendation for those conditions.
A product family name alone should not be treated as proof that the entire floor is waterproof, UV-proof, chemical-proof or appropriate for every outdoor space.
Separate Installation, Return to Use and Full Cure
Ask when preparation and application will take place, when the area can be entered and when vehicles or heavy items can return. These are separate scheduling questions. A “fast cure” phrase should not replace the actual written instructions.
DJ’s general guide after completed installation is approximately 8 hours before walking and 72 hours before vehicles or heavy use, subject to the selected system, conditions and Javier’s project instructions. These references are not a promise of full cure or a fixed installation schedule.
Compare the Written Scope
Record the measured area, concrete preparation, proposed layers, finish, access requirements and applicable written project terms. If two estimates use different products or preparation, ask for those differences to be explained before comparing prices.
The floor system comparison guide helps with the broader choice of decorative finish.
Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Floor
Does polyaspartic mean the whole floor uses only one material?
Ask for the actual layer-by-layer specification. Do not infer a complete system from one material named in an advertisement.
Is every application ready for vehicles the same day?
Do not assume that. Follow the project-specific return-to-use instructions rather than a general speed claim.
Does a coating solve moisture or drainage problems?
Ask for an evaluation of the cause and the substrate. A coating must not be assumed to correct a structural, moisture or drainage issue.
Discuss Your Actual Floor
Request an on-site flooring estimate or call (321) 398-1343. Explain the existing surface, approximate area and intended use.
