Describe Each Restaurant Area Separately
A restaurant dining room, kitchen, storage area and service corridor can have different operating conditions. Before requesting a coating estimate, explain which areas are included and how each is used. Avoid assuming that one decorative finish suits every part of a food-service business.
Contact DJ Epoxy Solutions through the commercial epoxy flooring service for an evaluation of the actual project. This guide does not certify a floor or promise approval by a health inspector.
Make a Cleaning and Exposure List
- Cleaning products, concentrations and how long they contact the floor.
- Routine water use, cleaning temperature and any hot-water exposure.
- Spills, oils and other substances expected during operation.
- Foot traffic, carts and equipment moved across the area.
The performance of an industrial-grade coating depends on the substance, exposure and application. Ask for evaluation of the actual operating conditions and the proposed system rather than relying on a general chemical-resistance claim.

Ask About the Existing Floor, Edges and Drainage
Share photos and identify previous coatings, visible damage, joints, thresholds and drains. Ask how preparation and any necessary concrete corrections fit within the installation scope. Tell the installer about standing water or changes in slope.
A coating should not be assumed to fix drainage, structural movement or the cause of moisture. Ask which concerns belong in the coating work and which require another assessment before installation.
Plan the Operating Interruption
Discuss access, moving equipment, protecting adjoining spaces and the sequence for returning the area to operation. Ask whether a proposed schedule is available; do not assume that overnight installation, phased work or operation during installation is automatically offered.
DJ’s general guide after completed installation is approximately 8 hours before walking and 72 hours before vehicles or heavy use, subject to the selected system, conditions and Javier’s project instructions. These references are not a promise of full cure or a fixed installation schedule.
Kitchen equipment, cleaning and business reopening still require project-specific instructions. The general return-to-use references do not independently authorize commercial operation.
Define the Written Scope and Approval Questions
Ask the quote to identify the area, preparation, system, finish, edge details and schedule. Confirm the requirements relevant to your premises with the responsible authority and the project professionals. A product name alone is not evidence of regulatory compliance.
For a broader example of commercial planning questions, see the commercial Flake flooring guide.
Questions to Ask Before Choosing a Floor
Will any epoxy floor automatically pass a restaurant inspection?
No approval is established here. Requirements and suitability must be checked for the actual premises, proposed system and authority.
Can the business stay open during the work?
Discuss access and scheduling for the actual job. Availability and safe operation during installation are not promised by this guide.
Does chemical resistance cover every cleaner?
No universal resistance claim applies. Provide the actual substances and exposure conditions for evaluation.
Discuss Your Actual Floor
Request an on-site flooring estimate or call (321) 398-1343. Explain the existing surface, approximate area and intended use.
